Discover Château Lascombes, the Second Classified Growth in 1855 in the Margaux appellation.

Owned by MACSF, a French mutual insurance company, from 2011 to 2022, and managed since 2001 by Dominique Befve, a new team has been overseeing this second-growth classified property with multiple potential since the end of 2022. Château Lascombes became an American property after Gaylon Lawrence (a Nashville entrepreneur) and Carlton McCoy acquired it in October 2022. This marked the beginning of a new era for a château accustomed to changing hands. The objective is simple: to continue producing, as under the previous management, a fine, elegant and concentrated wine, while gaining even greater precision to express the full diversity of the terroir. To this end, Lascombes cultivates 120 hectares in the Margaux appellation on fine clay-limestone and clay gravel soils. The new owners have also brought in a German oenologist, Axel Heinz, who took over general management of the estate on November 19, 2022, and intends to bring to the property the benefit of his 18 years of experience at the helm of the famous Italian estate Tenuta Dell' Ornellaia (Frescobaldi family group), producing its Super Toscan Ornellaia and Masseto Hisser Lascombes au plus haut is the goal!
