In 1959, Jean Méo, a close relative and technical advisor to General de Gaulle, took over the reins of the estate and added his name to it. From then on, the estate was known as Méo-Camuzet. Unable to combine his political career with viticulture, his son Jean-Nicolas Méo took over the estate in 1989. The latter, also a winemaker in Oregon in the USA, was a pupil of the legendary Henri Jayer. Jean-Nicolas Méo makes wines that are widely acclaimed by connoisseurs around the world. The wines have character, finesse and depth.
